Add An Ga4 To Your Website Or App

Google recently launched a new measurement protocol, named App+Web. It is based on the measurement protocol insiders already know from Firebase, but enhances it with more and more features. As of today Google advice their GA users to implement the App+Web property to get familiar with this new way of measurement definitions and protocols, since it will be their only measurement protocol in the long run. But since there is still a lot of work to be done in upgrading this measurement protocol from their side, it's impossible to flip the switch from old to new. 



At KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, I started using Firebase Analytics, which in the basics has 100% overlap with App+Web, early last year. Seen the overlap we shortly afterwards switched to using the App+Web property. Resulting in learnings and experience regarding the integration with Google Tag Manager, BigQuery, Firebase itself, and (max # of) parameters.
